The Department of Orthopedics in Vijaya Hospital has been functioning since its inception in 1998. The Department is headed by Dr. Ramakrishnan, the senior consultant for the last 22 years. He is ably assisted by Dr. Binu Abraham. This department offers all type of trauma management and ably coordinated with the Neurosurgery and General Surgery Department. Ours is the first department in Kollam District to start joint replacement in 2004. Continuity of service by the same consultant is one hallmark of our Department. These specialists have the experience and expertise to handle a host of complex cases supported by specially trained nurses, patient counsellors and physical rehabilitation therapists who follow international treatment protocols to ensure optimal, evidence-based care to patients.
